Revive Tohoku Festival - Yokohama


Blessed by a break in the rainy season, this weekend Yokohama is holding its Revive Tohoku Festival in the park that saved so many lives in the 1923 Kanto Earthquake.



Today, there were 40+ stalls featuring the best food and drink from the worst hit prefectures -


peppers from Ibaraki -


cherries from Fukushima -


ramen from Minami Soma -

super balls (?) from Miyagi -

It was good to see so many people showing their support - and, as one old fella told me, the next time we see these Tohoku stall owners in Yokohama, it will be when they're helping to feed the 10million+ homeless from Kanto's next big one,
